About Make Hunger History
Poverty is killing 6 million children a year
Tonight, literally millions of children will go to bed hungry. Some of them will plead for food, not able to understand that their moms and dads simply have nothing to give them.
Others — the little ones — will just cry with empty bellies. And some will be too weak to even cry.
Maybe you can imagine watching your own child hurting, dying — and being unable to help. It's any parent's nightmare.
Every minute of every day, somewhere in the world, 21 children die of malnutrition and preventable diseases. Even when it doesn't kill, chronic malnutrition can cause blindness, deformities and brain damage. That's the shocking truth. But we don't have to accept it. We can choose to stop it.
We hope to raise US $100 million over the next 10 years, to do our little bit to help Make Hunger History. Consumers are empowered to "vote with their dollars".
Make Hunger History is a program developed to change the way we consume and buy: brands, products and services.
The idea is pretty simple, when consumers buy or consumes a product with the Make Hunger History logo, a certain portion of the sale will be donated to feed impoverish children and adults locally and in third world countries. A natural tendency is to first work with socially conscious supermarkets, food manufacturers, beverage manufacturers and restaurant industries, to Make Hunger History. Our slogan is "feed 2 mouths instead of only 1 ". We also, work with artists to donate a portion of sales of art, music, movies and events to Make Hunger History. We have 3 services:
1. Feed: feed the hungry, deliver safe drinking & prevent malnutrition;
2. Educate: boost awareness about world hunger, and to teach people to become self-sufficiency long-term;
3. Develop: to develop agricultural programs in third world countries, to provide wells for safe drinking water, and work with organizations to provide micro-loans to poor farmers.
The Make Hunger History is an international, non-political, non-governmental, non-religious program created in 2007. The program is organized by the E=MC² Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by The E=MC² Company (a small Canadian company promoting Smart Living, comprising of a LOHAS lifestyle - Lifestyles of Helath and Sustainability) and artist David Kam, founder of the Thinkism Art Movement (the first fine art movement of the 21st century, which creates art with a social message).
The Make Hunger History program delivers food locally to food shelters, countries in: emergency situations due to war, conflict, natural disasters, and longer-term assistance to people in distress/poverty.
